AFL in Canberra and Region bids for the Big Time
The local AFL community will take its first step to securing the future of Australian Football in Canberra and the region, with today’s launch of ‘ACT 4 GWS’ - a campaign to achieve a long-term partnership with team GWS, the newest AFL franchise.
The aim of ACT 4 GWS is to secure 5000 $50 membership pledges as well as significant
local and regional corporate support.

PM’S XI HITS WASTE FOR SIX
Manuka Oval will become more environmentally friendly starting at tomorrow’s Prime Minister’s XI, Minister for the Environment, Climate Change and Water, Simon Corbell announced today while launching a new recycling program.
“I am pleased today to announce the ACT Government’s business recycling program. This program will go a long way to help us reach the goal of recycling at least 50% of the waste produced at tomorrow’s match,” Mr Corbell said. Read more...

REMOVAL OF HAZARDOUS TREES
Territory and Municipal Services today announced the urgent removal of hazardous trees at Manuka Oval.
“Territory Venues and Events (TVE) have undertaken a tree hazard assessment for all trees at Manuka Oval, as a result 22 trees have been identified as hazardous and requiring removal,“ said Mr James Kiwi. Events and Operations Manager, TVE.

This section has been set up to give the community information on the master planning that is currently being undertaken for Manuka Oval.
Manuka Oval is a 13,550 capacity stadium located in Griffith adjacent to Manuka. The Oval is one of the oldest in the Territory, with a long history and has been progressively developed and expanded.
In accordance with the Territory's objectives to improve sport and recreation opportunities, the ACT Government have launched a project to develop a master plan for the Oval. Find out more...
